Healthy Living Series

A Personalized Approach to Women's Heart Health | Medicine in Our Backyard

While heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death for both men and women, there are subtle and not-so-subtle gender differences in how it is diagnosed and treated. Dr. Jin Kyung Kim, board-certified cardiologist, and director of the Women’s Heart Health Program at UCI Health, will talk about these differences and what can be done to improve treatment through a more personalized approach.

Diabetes Overview

This workshop is meant for anyone with diabetes, those with pre-diabetes, or at risk for pre-diabetes, and for individuals, family members and caregivers of those with diabetes. Anyone interested in learning more about diabetes is welcome. Sessions occur on the last Wednesday of each month from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Presidential Leadership and Disability

The age of presidential candidates has become a salient concern, but age is not the only physical factor that should concern citizens. Presidents can also suffer various forms of illness, both physical and psychological. This talk highlights the nature of these concerns and how we might work to mitigate their impact on political outcomes.
