AI and the future of work
 
On April 22, nearly 60 community leaders, educators and business owners gathered at the UCI Research Park for a timely conversation on how AI is reshaping the workplace. UC Irvine experts and industry voices explored how AI can support human work, from managing power grids to creating virtual tools, and what it means for the next generation of talent. Speakers included Ian Williamson, dean of UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business (above); Vibhanshu Abhishek, UC Irvine associate professor of information systems; Gisele Hasman, CTI AI trainer and founder and CEO of GQ & Company; and David Fanous, Southern California Edison principal manager.

On Saturday, May 2, UC Irvine and UCI Health teamed with the city of Irvine for the third annual CicloIrvine. It provided an opportunity for UC Irvine to bring a bit of the university directly to the community. UCI Health added to the festivities, sharing information about its many patient services.
