Spotlighting Josie Ferman, Class of 2024 in Public Health Policy
Not only has Josie dedicated two years as a peer academic advisor for undergraduate students, but her journey -- from her grandmother’s diabetes diagnosis to advocating for effective public health policies -- is truly inspiring. She cherishes the support she's received from UC Irvine’s Program in Public Health’s Office of Student Affairs and seeks impactful internships upon graduation. With plans to pursue a Master of Public Health in child and maternal health, Josie will surely make a positive impact towards human health and wellbeing.

Moones Mansouri, MPH, who is pursuing a PhD degree in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health, has been recognized for her research endeavors to support this critical public health effort with the prestigious Humanitarian Shelter & Settlements (HS&S) Fellowship Program.

Matthew Hileman '24 named winner of the Poster Award at the 2024 UCI Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences Scholars Day!
Of the eight students from the Program in Public Health who particpated, Hileman's poster, titled: "Expanding Wastewater-Based Surveillance Efforts Past COVID-19: Infectious Disease Tracking at WWTPs and Manholes," was recognized for its scholarly excellence. Hileman, who received a public health sciences bachelor's degree with the Class of 2024, was mentored by Ashley Green and the Project PI is Sunny Jiang, both from UCI Engineering.
